During
Movember (the
month formerly known as November) I grew a moustache to support the fight
against prostate cancer.
Bulletin #1
Special R3 Upgrade Project Offer
I
am seeking donations from all my R3 Upgrade Project colleagues to support
prostate cancer research AND determine how long I will continue to sport this
growth. There seem to be two camps of
opinion regarding my new moustache: Those that Love It
and those that Hate It.
So,
let’s make this interesting. I make the
following offer: The camp that donates the most money can determine whether I
keep this moustache until the R3 Upgrade go live May 12 (Love It) or shave it
off December 17 (Hate It). The original
date of the end of Movember was of course November
30, but, like everything related to the R3 Upgrade Project, it has been delayed
two weeks.
If
you donate using the movember.com website, include text in the comment to
indicate whether you are a Mo-Lover or Mo-Hater. If you donate by mailing a check to the
Prostate Cancer Foundation, then email me the amount of your donation (to movember 'at' mjpatterson.com) and whether you are a
Mo-Lover or a Mo-Hater. If you give me
cash, I’ll ask you your preference. The winning team will be the one that
donates the most money. I will keep track of the tally and announce the winning
team on December 17.
If
you do not specify whether you are a mo-lover or a mo-hater then I will apply
half of your donation to each.
Bulletin #2: Side-Wager
Anna Harris has made a
side bet with me that if she can get an additional $200 donated to the Movember
cause by Dec 17th, that I will:
- in Burbank, CA, in the offices at 820 Flower
- shave, in some public arena, ONE HALF of my moustache off and keep it off for
4 hours during business hours
Your role in this? Donate and sign up as a mo-hater.

So,
I shaved half my moustache off at noon today (Dec 17) in 820 Flower. Thanks to
all who attended!
For an additional $100, Fernando nominated Jen to do the shaving.
